In so many cases, when one person says to another, “I Love You, but let’s not ruin it by getting married” that person really means “my love for you has not reached the marriage level” or “Love is primarily as emotional desire and not as active committed service” Now I know that the reason you should not simply date people is because you will subconsciously stop giving each time a relationship ended.
